Collin Powers
Following his graduation from Black Hills State University in May, Collin Powers of Big Horn, Wyoming, wanted an opportunity where he could “bet all the cards on himself” and prove his ability. After a record-breaking internship experience, he is now a fulltime employee expecting to make six figures this summer and will be visiting the BHSU campus to recruit student interns for his company.
Collin started his internship with Caliber, an industry leader in direct to consumer sales, selling Dish Network memberships door-to-door from May through August. Typically, new interns with Caliber can expect to earn $10,000 over the summer. But Collin earned four-times that amount, $43,000 in three months, and was named Intern of the Year
Leadership Development
We want to build the next generation of business leaders.
Leadership and development are at the core of what Caliber does. That’s why a few years ago we implemented a program at the university level to offer Sophomores and Juniors a two-year program designed to jump-start their career. Step one requires interns to enroll in the program agreeing to take on a few additional responsibilities in addition to their regular ones. Participants will be held to a higher standard and will have different expectations than regular sales reps. Assuming they are successful in their first summer and meet all requirements, they will be invited back the following summer as a Team Lead or Intern Manager. This is a selective program designed for those interested in differentiating themselves from the pack.
SKILLS YOU WILL GAIN
We will help set you up for success
Caliber focuses on 5 major premises of intern development within our program: Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Negotiation, Communication, and Work Ethic. Regardless of your interests or career choice, we believe by focusing on these 5 skill sets, students are uniquely prepared to start their working careers with a leg up on the competition.
INCENTIVES
Sales can be a tough job. The very things that will help you grow and learn the most are also the most challenging parts of your job. Caliber understands that sometimes we all need a little external motivation to get over the hump and go the extra mile. That's why Caliber invests hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in incentives for its interns and reps. Whether it's some new threads, a sweet paddle board, a Mac book computer, or one of our incentive trips you can be sure there will be many opportunities to earn an extra incentive during your summer.
